The other day I read an article on msnbc about a women being thrown off a plane in the US for breastfeeing her child on board - the airline claimes she wasn't being discreet!

A bunch of garbage if you ask me!
Apparently in the US there is a constitutional right to breastfeed, but this right does not automatically override other interests such as those of a private employer who may refuse a mother breaks for pumping, or a private restaurant asking a mother to leave, however unfair that seems.

I'm back in Denmark where the opposite couldn't be more true. All the cafe's are taken over by young mothers on maternity leave (1 year) and there has been a lot of debate about this here. Not because anyone had a problem with them breastfeeding in public but because they choose the change their babies right there among the coffee and cake - Yum!
Perhaps not the best aroma to mix with...
Would be great to hear some about the views of breastfeeding in public in other countries - please do tell...
